We use standard compound growth formulas. For each investment, FutureValue = CurrentValue * (1 + rate/100)^years. If you specify a recurring contribution (like a monthly SIP), we use the future value of an annuity formula: FV = P * [((1 + r)^n - 1) / r] * (1 + r), where P is the contribution amount, r is the monthly growth rate, and n is the total number of months. You can also customize or override growth rates for specific projection scenarios.
Yes, completely. We use Supabase Auth and Database with PostgreSQL Row Level Security (RLS). Every query is automatically scoped to your unique authenticated user ID. Your assets, expenses, and settings are private to you, fully isolated, and never accessible by other users or third parties.
Our tracker supports both Indian Rupees (₹) and US Dollars ($). When set to INR, the app automatically formats all values using the Indian numbering system (Lakhs and Crores, e.g., ₹12.50 L, ₹1.00 Cr). You can easily switch your preferred currency at any time in the Settings module.
The projector normalizes all expenses (monthly, quarterly, annual) into a single 'Total Annual Expense' figure. For example, a monthly premium of ₹5,000 is calculated as ₹60,000 annually. Each expense is then inflated forward individually using its specific inflation rate, allowing you to model premium or education inflation separately from standard CPI inflation.
Version 1.0 of Net Worth Tracker acts as a gross asset growth engine and simple net worth calculator. It projects gross asset value alongside cumulative expenses if you choose to net them out. It does not calculate capital gains tax or automated asset liquidation strategies, which we recommend modeling by adjusting your expected net-of-tax growth rate assumptions.
